FAQs on Sierra Leone

Sierra Learners is helping to close the gap by providing education opportunities for children who would otherwise be left behind.

In spite of the free education introduced by the government in 2017, there are many schools that do not have adequate resources to deliver quality education to their students.

In 2012 when our project was established, up to 50% of young people could not read and write. This gap is reducing now with more support given to the Education sector through assistance from local and international organisations. However, there are quite a number of schools and communities still ill-equipped to provide sufficient learning opportunities for children.
