Education, particularly of girls, is the best assistance we can give anyone anywhere in the world.

I'm delighted to support Sarah King's Sierra Leone book project. Sarah has made her home in our Lismore community and is now working to assist her country of origin by giving the gift of learning through reading to the children there. She has the books and now needs our help to pay for the transport.

How about making a donation to get those books to the Sierra Leone children who are waiting for them.

As President of Sanctuary Northern Rivers I would like to encourage our communities to support Sarah King in her fundraising efforts for this project.

What Sarah is seeking to do dovetails well with our aims as an organisation. Increased literacy is a core foundation in humanitarian development.

Sarah has an amazing passion for people and in reaching out across the ocean, she makes both our communities stronger. I believe her library can make a difference to future generations by giving the gift of knowledge and allowing the joy of reading to be a shared experience for all.

In Australia we are constantly reminded of the importance of books and of encouraging our children to read. For us books are so accessible. For many in Sierra Leone it is a different story.

Sarah King knows this reality only too well and is now planning to do her part to change the story for many children and adults in her country of origin. I would not hesitate to encourage others to join with Sarah by helping with this project in any way that they can – whether that be practical or financial assistance.

I would like to wholeheartedly recommend this project as I believe education to be the most powerful tool in helping people and nations to raise up from poverty and difficulties.

There is never just a time for learning as learning is a lifetime opportunity being myself an example of that having finished my MBA at 50!

These books will bless so many kids and future generations to come and I am very happy to support this worthy cause and hope you do the same.
